STYLABS is an e-commerce development company with teams in Dubai and Mumbai. Its e-commerce work includes The Mainstreet Marketplace, an Indian sneaker and streetwear resale marketplace that has taken 8,000 orders; Outlet House, a UAE shopping app built on Flutter with Tabby, Tamara, cash on delivery and Arabic, downloaded more than 10,000 times; D2C stores for Selfish and Farm to Plate; and Shopify stores for five brands including Mauve by MOMA and Maan Farms. An e-commerce build costs ₹12 lakh to ₹40 lakh, or AED 50,000 to AED 120,000.
The studio was founded in 2015 and has between 10 and 49 people across its two offices. The Dubai office is at 1616 Binary Tower, Business Bay.
This page covers what we build, the e-commerce work we can show, what a UAE or Indian store needs that a template leaves out, Shopify against a custom build, prices, timelines, and when to hire someone else.
What we build
| Type | What it includes | Shipped for |
|---|---|---|
| Marketplaces | Seller onboarding and listings, buyer storefront, commission and payouts, an admin panel to run it | The Mainstreet Marketplace; Hireavilla, a multi-host villa marketplace of about 150 properties with an owners app for payouts |
| Resale and recommerce | Last-sale pricing, authentication, preowned and consigned stock, fast-ship inventory | The Mainstreet Marketplace |
| Flutter shopping apps | One codebase for iOS and Android, UAE payments, Arabic right to left | Outlet House |
| D2C stores | A brand's own store on its own domain: catalogue, checkout, offers, customer accounts | Selfish, a clothing brand; Farm to Plate |
| Shopify builds | A Shopify store with a custom theme and the apps it needs, when Shopify is the right size | Mauve by MOMA, Drip Project, Shuusk Matcha, Sourpop Studio, Maan Farms |
| B2B ordering portals | Trade pricing, repeat orders, credit terms, ERP sync | Ask on the call |
The design team and the build team are one team, so the storefront you approve is the one that ships (product design). Brand identity can be part of the same engagement: Mainstreet's brand was.
The Mainstreet Marketplace
The Mainstreet Marketplace (MNST) is a buy-and-sell marketplace for sneakers, streetwear, accessories and collectibles in India. Before it, this resale ran through WhatsApp groups. STYLABS built it in 2022, in three months, as a venture partner working for reduced fees in exchange for equity.
- Storefront: web, plus native iOS and Android apps. A "Last Sale" ticker shows what popular pairs last sold for, and category rails cover sneakers, apparel, accessories, collectibles, MNST's own gear and preowned pairs.
- Sellers: independent sellers list alongside MNST's own and consigned stock, through their own onboarding and listing flow.
- Trust: every pair goes through authentication that pairs machine learning with a dedicated authenticator.
- Instantship: pairs already in stock ship within 24 hours.
- Back office: an admin panel and an ERP for listings, orders and fulfilment, with Razorpay for payments and Prozo for shipping. The stack is React and Node.js on AWS.
- Results: 8,000 orders, and more than 5,000 pairs in active listings.
The founder, Vedant Lamba, says: "Mainstreet Marketplace wouldn't be where it is today without STYLABS. Their expertise in e-commerce and understanding of the hype resale market was crucial to our success."
Outlet House
Outlet House is a UAE e-commerce app built on Flutter, so one codebase serves iOS and Android. It takes payment through Tabby, Tamara and cash on delivery, runs in Arabic as well as English, and has been downloaded more than 10,000 times.
What a UAE or Indian store needs
A template store is built for card payments in one language. The checkout UAE and Indian shoppers expect is different, and most of the work in an e-commerce build sits here.
In the UAE
- Buy now, pay later. Tabby and Tamara at checkout, as Outlet House has them.
- Cash on delivery, with the order flow and the courier settlement it needs.
- Arabic, right to left. Planned from the first design, with the layout mirrored in the markup, not translated at the end.
- UAE payment gateways. STYLABS has shipped UAE payment gateway integrations in its apps.
In India
- Razorpay, the payment gateway Mainstreet runs on.
- Logistics partners such as Prozo for shipping, connected to the order system.
Everywhere
- An admin panel or ERP the team runs the business from: listings, orders, returns, payouts and stock.
- Pages rendered on the server, structured data on every product page, and weight budgets set at design time, so the store is quick on a phone and readable by search engines.
Shopify or a custom build
Use Shopify when you sell your own products from one catalogue and your checkout is close to what Shopify and its apps already do. It costs less to build and your team can run it from day one. We have built Shopify stores for Mauve by MOMA, Drip Project, Shuusk Matcha, Sourpop Studio and Maan Farms.
Build custom when the business model is the product:
- Several sellers with their own listings, commission and payouts.
- Resale or authentication steps between the seller and the buyer.
- Pricing that moves, such as last-sale prices or bids.
- An operation that needs its own ERP, warehouse logic or B2B terms.
- Native or Flutter apps that share one back end with the website.
Mainstreet is custom for all of those reasons. On the first call we will tell you which one fits.
What e-commerce development costs
STYLABS. An e-commerce build costs ₹12 lakh to ₹40 lakh, or AED 50,000 to AED 120,000, quoted as a fixed proposal after a scoping call. The price depends on the platforms (web, iOS, Android), the number of sellers, the payment and logistics integrations, the languages and the back office.
What others publish. Apptunix, a Dubai app developer, publishes three bands for e-commerce apps: AED 15,000 to AED 50,000 for a "Basic App" with "product listings, shopping cart, secure payments, and simple UI"; AED 50,000 to AED 80,000 for a "Mid-Level App" with "custom UI/UX, API integrations, multi-language (including Arabic)"; and AED 120,000 to AED 300,000 or more for a "High-Complexity App" with "multi-vendor support, subscriptions" and more. It puts timelines at three to four months for a basic app and six months or more for a complex one (Apptunix, eCommerce app development, retrieved 24 October 2026).
Running costs are separate from the build: hosting, payment gateway fees per transaction, courier charges, app store accounts, and an optional monthly retainer for changes and support.
How we work
- Free 30-minute call. We go through the catalogue, the sellers, the checkout and the markets, and say whether Shopify or a custom build fits.
- Fixed proposal. Scope, price and timeline in writing.
- Build. About twelve weeks from kickoff to launch is the standard engagement; Mainstreet's first version, with web and both apps, took three months. You see working software every week.
- Launch and after. A monthly retainer covers changes, new features and support. You own the code and the IP either way.
When to hire someone else
- You need a store this month and sell a small catalogue. A Shopify theme set up by a freelancer will cost less and go live sooner.
- You need a large enterprise platform across many countries and warehouses with an in-house team of hundreds. A larger firm may suit you better.
- You only need marketing. We build the store and the brand; paid ads and marketplace management on Amazon or Noon are better with a specialist.

FAQ
How much does e-commerce development cost in Dubai? A STYLABS e-commerce build costs AED 50,000 to AED 120,000, or ₹12 lakh to ₹40 lakh in India, quoted as a fixed proposal after a scoping call. Apptunix, a Dubai app developer, publishes bands from AED 15,000 for a basic app to AED 300,000 or more for a multi-vendor app. Hosting, payment fees and courier charges are separate.
How long does it take to build an e-commerce app or marketplace? About twelve weeks from kickoff to launch is the standard STYLABS engagement. The Mainstreet Marketplace's first version, with a web storefront and native iOS and Android apps, took three months. A store on Shopify can go live sooner; a marketplace with several sellers, authentication and an ERP takes longer.
Do you integrate Tabby, Tamara and cash on delivery? Yes. Outlet House, a UAE shopping app STYLABS built on Flutter, takes payment through Tabby, Tamara and cash on delivery, runs in Arabic as well as English, and has been downloaded more than 10,000 times. In India, The Mainstreet Marketplace runs on Razorpay.
Should we use Shopify or a custom build? Use Shopify when you sell your own products from one catalogue and its checkout fits. Build custom when the business model is the product: several sellers with payouts, resale or authentication steps, moving prices, B2B terms, or apps that share one back end. We build both, including Shopify stores for Mauve by MOMA and Maan Farms, and tell you which fits on the first call.
Do you build marketplaces with multiple sellers? Yes. The Mainstreet Marketplace lets independent sellers list alongside MNST's own and consigned stock, with authentication on every pair, and has taken 8,000 orders. Hireavilla is a multi-host villa marketplace of about 150 properties, with an owners app where owners follow their payouts.
Who owns the store and the code? You do. The code and the IP belong to your business. After launch, STYLABS offers a monthly retainer for changes, new features and support; taking it is optional, and the store remains yours either way.
